Reasons to Chose a Realtor

In today’s ever changing real estate market it is easy to access properties on the web, but very confusing on who to call for assistance.  Or maybe you think you would just like to make the phone calls yourself and not get an agent involved.  Here are some reasons that home buyers should consider consulting with a Realtor.

Most Realtors (of course there are always exceptions) are here to represent your best interest.  A Buyer’s agent is going to be dealing with the Seller’s agent, who is, lets face it, here to get the Seller the most amount of money they can for their home sale.  I would like to stress at this point, that if you think an agent can represent a Seller and Buyer in a transaction and be working to acheive the most for the people they represent, that this doesn’t add up.  How can an agent get the most money for the Seller and get the “best deal” for the Buyer?  Not possible.

Secondly, a Realtor should be able to educate you about the market and your transaction.  They should be able to answer your questions and guide you through the process of a sale or purchase, leading your negotiation making the process as stress free and smooth as possible.

Your Realtor should be honest and not try to just tell you what you think you want to hear.  None of your questions are “stupid” and your Realtor should be able to tell you if your desires are realistic or attainable.

A Realtor is here to provide guidance and support from the beginning of a transaction to the end.   I have found that each transaction that I have been involved in has been completely different from the last transaction and that it what makes my job so enjoyable.  The people that I meet are all different and I have some great experiences and friends from them all.

If you’re confused about who to call, just start with a few names and numbers, give them a call and see what you think.  Since you will be spending a good amount of time with the person you choose, make sure it is someone you feel comfortable with and feel will handle your needs.
