Franciscan Renewal Center
Have you ever felt the need to refresh and renew? I think in this fast-paced world we live in, this feeling to “have a battery recharge” is often our cry. But where to go without traveling long distances (which sometimes adds to our stress and fatigue), and how to get a “quick-fix” before having to go back to work on Monday is often the question. But I have found a place right in the middle of busy, downtown Scottsdale that is a spiritual oasis, where many can and will find the peace and tranquility necessary to “recharge”.
It is the Franciscan Renewal Center, located at 5802 E. Lincoln Road in Scottsdale. There in the most beautiful settings, including walkways, lush gardens, and an inspirational library, you can find peace and restoration. Overnight lodging is available for up to 100 guests in comfortable, modest rooms each with a private bath. The 24 acre campus offers many outdoor areas for prayer, meditation and relaxation. This includes a desert walkway, labyrinth, swimming pool, ramadas, and healing garden. Of course, if you desire something more, then this Center has it for you – how about enrolling in one of their many workshops and support groups, signing up for a spiritual growth and personal development retreat, or choosing one of many other programs offered?
But my favorite part of this beautiful Eden is the Labyrinth. Not knowing too much about these ethereal wonders – let me fill you in. The pattern of the labyrinth has been known about for thousands of years, but I will be brief – the labyrinth is a physical representation of the journey of your life, and as you walk its path, you are invited to remember and reflect on it – it is certainly a challenge, and sometimes life-changing. Contact this amazing Center, or go on-line and learn all about its amazing teachings and features. www.casameetings.org
