Art in Scottsdale

One of my favorite pastimes in one of my favorite neighborhoods is right-down-the-road, and just waiting for you to come and explore.  It is also an event that takes place every year, AND lasts for not-l, not-2, but 3 months!  It is the annual Arizona Fine Art Expo, and is literally “in your back yard” – actually at the corner of Scottsdale and Jomax roads.  Brought to you by The Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and the Arizona Fine Art Expo, the two-tented art and garden show is celebrating its third year in this location.  And it can be enjoyed for very little – just $8 will buy you a season pass, and you can enjoy this “smashing” event as often as you care to from January thru March, every year!

Inside the tents, about 70 percent of the show’s artists return from one year to the next, working with materials from paint to clay to stone and wax.  And in many instances these talented people from all over the globe are actually on-site where you can see them work, ask them questions, and hopefully, purchase one of their creations!  Outside these huge tents is the 2-acre sculpture garden, which includes 75 sculptures, a koi pond, waterfalls, hummingbird and butterfly gardens, a putting green, bridges, lounge areas and a gazebo.  Take my advice, this is a no-brainer – spend a day in the sun with the artists, and come away feeling refreshed and delighted!
